EWS Rotorua: Day 1 Practice

EWS Rotorua: Day 1 Practice

Presented by Pivot Cycles NZ

Rotorua’s EWS round is here to kick off the 2019 season with riders tackling 3 stages in the Whakarewarewa Forest and 2 stages at the Skyline Rotorua gravity park. We’ve spent a couple of days in the woods and with 2 days of rain in the past 3 months, the trails are dry and dusty with a super loose top layer that’s getting more and more blown out with every rider.

Day 1 saw riders practising the 3 stages in the Whakarewarewa Forest and from what we’ve seen so far, all eyes are on Sam Hill or one of our local Kiwi riders to take out the event. Wyn Masters is looking especially fast, and after his win here in 2017 he’s desperate to repeat it and kick his season off on a high.

Thanks to Pivot Cycles NZ, we’ll be covering each practise day of the EWS as well as a race weekend wrap up. Stay tuned!
